Job Summary:

Develop and deliver technical product and service training to customers, distributors, and Ingersoll Rand personnel for Power Tools and Industrial Lifting products. Acquire and maintain expertise for products and training methods as well as a comprehensive understanding of the training needs of the business and its various audiences.Provide launch and post sales technical support for all applicable product lines.


·Deliver product application, performance, installation and service technical training to authorized service centers, distributors, end-customers and Ingersoll Rand personal for all applicable products within the Power Tools/Industrial Lifting portfolios

·Acquire and maintain subject matter expertise in assigned products to support development of comprehensive training materials

·Design and develop training materials including presentations, videos, workshops, simulations, interactive e-Learning modules, and supporting hand-outs, worksheets, troubleshooting guides, etc.

·Provide analysis and selection of appropriate training delivery methods

·Develop and maintain a robust training strategy and supporting training schedule to meet business requirements.

·Develop understanding of target audiences with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to widely varied audiences

·Perform setup/teardown/storage, troubleshooting, and maintenance of training equipment

·Represent Training and Technical Support on New Product Development teams in support of the development of Service Strategy and Post-Launch Support Strategy

·Participate and lead cross-functional training development teams

·Address conflict or opposing opinions and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers during training events

·Provide technical support to Authorized Service Centers, Distributor and end-customers as required via phone, email and customer site visits

·Provide input and review of technical bulletins and troubleshooting guides to ensure field personnel have access to latest updates and reference data

·Contribute to the Power Tools/Industrial Lifting Knowledge Base to improve field connectivity and effective troubleshooting via Knowledge Article creation and review

·Travel domestically and internationally to provide on-site training


·Education: BS degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline or equivalent work related experience

·Experience: 5-8 years of experience in technical training and/or technical support within the electromechanical industry

Key Competencies:

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills

·Strong technical aptitude – ability to understand basic product structure and internal components and product functionality/applications

·Strong knowledge of adult learning basics

·Knowledge of blended learning techniques and methods

·Working knowledge of tools and software used for distribution of training material via internet and other distance learning methodologies

·Experience in teaching via virtual classroom

·Knowledge of video production techniques

·Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint)

·Willingness and ability to physically work on equipment as needed which requires knowledge of safety procedures (i.e. lock out/tag out) and also correct lifting practices (i.e. riggingfor heavy machinery).

·English speaking - Bilingual in Spanish desirable

Job Scope :

·Technical Training primarily for internal/external customers within the Americas, with occasional support globally

·Fiscal responsibility for tooling, products, and equipment valued to $200,000 USD
