Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for supporting the expansion and continuous improvement of the IMDM (Item Master Data Management) process across all SBUs and functions.This includes leading the development of, and the mapping of, current and target states using data from SBUs, voice of the customer, benchmarking, and best practice review.This role will serve as a key player in the Value Stream of IMDM and continuous improvement efforts in the part creation and enrichment processes across all functions and SBUs in the enterprise. This role will provide critical support of the IMDM core team and governance team.This resource will also provide business ownership and support of the global parts management process.

In addition, on a limited basis, this position will be responsible for supporting the continuous improvement of IRPDP (Ingersoll Rand Product Development Process) across all SBUs and functions.This role will also provide engineering project management guidance to the enterprise, as well as support projects and initiatives related to product development/project management.


Support the Item Master Data Management (IMDM) value stream through the leadership of key projects and events related to the global areas of part creation and enrichment

Support and provide backup leadership to the IMDM Core team and Governance Teams

Lead parts classification efforts to enable effective part reuse across all Strategic Business Units (SBUs), globally

Communicate project status, activities, issues, and risks to key stakeholders

Drive support from strategic business units and enterprise functions for value stream efforts by engaging participants, ensuring leadership support for the initiatives, and gathering data and input for the processes

Implement and communicates changes across the enterprise through engineering news flashes, presentations and meetings, Business Operating System updates, and/or business specific communication vehicles

Interface with and supports other Value Streams and functions to ensure alignment of goals and process improvement efforts

Support the IRPDP Value Stream through management of initiatives related to the project management process of product development

Create and maintain relationships with internal partners in project management execution

Support the project management process for Ingersoll Rand, globally

* Required Qualifications: *

Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering required

A minimum of 10 years combined work experience in product engineering and/or engineering project management.

Working knowledge of Lean methodology

Demonstrated understanding of project management methodology and applicability to the enterprise project management processes

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, team management, and effective communication.

* Desired Qualifications: *

Experience leading engineering product development projects

Experience in engineering software application management and administration

Significant training in Lean process methodology and experience managing Lean process initiatives

Experience working in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems such as Windchill and/or ERP systems such as Oracle R12

* Key Competencies: *

Ability to drive collaborative working relationships with multiple functions and business units to create/manage common processes and tools required to deliver engineering operations excellence

Ability to comprehend, and get up to speed quickly, on multiple IT systems and business processes for part creation and enrichment

Strong desire to continuously improve process efficiency and quality

Self-starter that can function without continuous supervision.Able to take high-level scope information and effectively translate it into their own action plan, and then work productively to this plan

Ability to travel up to 25%
