Ingersoll Rand Project Engineer (Controls) in GREENVILLE, South Carolina
·Project Engineer Controls- Under direct supervision, responsible for all aspects of a small project or phases of a larger project.
·Applies engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects.
·Designs cost effective control solutions to meet project requirements.
·Works directly on the project team to assist the Project Manager with project commissioning.
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in electrical engineering and a certificate in HVAC or AAS and BAS in electrical engineering and 4-5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following- Other functions may also be assigned.
·Responsible for basic design and programming activities utilizing direct digital controls,electronic and pneumatic comfort control and automation systems.
·Responsible for the sequence of operations that meet the project requirements.
·Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
·Validates the engineered bill of material costs.
·Orders Trane material under Project Manager’s direction.
·Generates Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
·Responsible for reviewing contract documents and conducting job surveys.
·Assists in creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings and final validation of system operation.
·Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for projects.
·Provides engineering direction and support to other team members.
·Reviews equipment submittals for incorporation into design.
·Negotiates and orders required Trane material and outside purchases.
·Develops control programming and graphics for control systems.
·Assists BAS Technicians as required with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test and startup.
·Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communication with staff, as needed, and providing customer feedback.
·Some travel with occasional overnight stays. - 5%
·Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

Education and/or Experience:
·Associate's degree, Bachelor’s or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in electrical engineering preferred not required, and or a certificate in HVAC or AAS and BAS in electrical engineering.
·0 to 3 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and engineering drawing tools.
·Some computer programming experience is required.
·Familiarity with the concepts of new construction, renovation/retrofit; performance contracting, and service project management.
·Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.
·Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
·Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel.
·Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and algebra.
·Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
·Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
·Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
