Position Description:

The AST Fabricator position will be responsible for providing coverage for all fabrication needs on first shift.The individual will also be responsible for completing work orders and special assignments which include: fabricating carts, repair & maintain equipment parts, fabricating fixtures, structural steel assembly work, facility related fabrication activities.

Major Job Responsibilities :

·The fabricators primary responsibility will be completing fabrication related work orders in a timely fashion

·Planning, executing, and implementation of associated WO tasks across all shifts

·Prioritizing fabrication projects and expediting these project to completion

·Cutting or joining metal parts and fabricating/repairing vehicles, tuggers, specialty equipment, material storage devices, fixtures, tools, and shop floor needs

·Provide key support to maintain working inventories of fabrication consumables including ordering

·Input all of the assigned and WO related activities into the INFOR 10 work order system

·Engage in the departmental cross training plans and document all related activities in INFOR 10

·Provide communication of all WO related tasks ongoing and completed to team Supervisor

·Escalate all necessary maintenance/fabrication activities that need to be completed as an urgent priority

·Interface with all departments and individuals who have entered in the Work Orders into the system

·Basic equipment operating skills is desired but not mandatory for the Industrial equipment in the facility

Key Competencies:

·Strong skills in the following competencies: Welding, Brazing, Torch Cutting, Plasma Cutting, Shearing, Planning & Organizing projects, Sound Judgment/Decision Making, Excellent Communication, Project Management, and self-motivated work ethic

·Demonstrated self-directed leadership skills through similar activities

·Powered Industrial Vehicle certification, Fall Protection Training, LOTO Training is a must

·Experience with a broad range of industrial equipment including sheet metal forming, stamping, grinding, cranes, iron worker, and material handling devices is a must

·Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic troubleshooting experience is a plus

·Proficiency with Computer Systems is a plus includingMicrosoft Office, and INFOR 10


·High School Diploma or GED Required

·4 - 5 years of heavy fabrication experience is required for this position

·College course work completion including an AA degree in technical field of study is a plus

·*Note – This position will also be responsible to work split shift assignments between 1st, 2nd, and 3rdshift as well as weekends when project work is assigned or scheduled
